Feeling Stretched Too Thin?

You’re someone who gives a lot, at work, at home, or in your community. You keep pushing, supporting others, and “holding it together,” even when inside you’re running on fumes.

Stress and burnout can slowly accumulate until it feels like you’re constantly on edge, exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. You might notice:

Difficulty concentrating or staying organized

Feeling drained even after sleep

Irritability or emotional sensitivity

Physical tension or headaches

Loss of motivation or joy

Feeling “stuck” in a cycle of work, responsibilities, and exhaustion

If this feels familiar, you are not alone. And you don’t have to navigate it alone.

How Nature-Based Therapy Can Help

Walk-and-talk therapy in the Cuyahoga Valley offers more than a change of scenery. Movement, fresh air, and the grounding rhythms of nature help calm your nervous system, giving your mind space to think clearly and process emotions.

In sessions, we integrate:

DBT-Informed Skills: Practical strategies for managing stress, regulating emotions, and responding rather than reacting

Mindfulness & Somatic Awareness: Techniques to pause, breathe, and reset your nervous system

ACT Principles: Explore values, priorities, and actionable steps to reduce overwhelm

Holistic Approaches: Movement, breathwork, and reflective exercises in nature

Together, these approaches provide a multi-layered way to address stress and burnout.

What You’ll Gain from Therapy

This therapy helps you regain control, not by adding more to your plate, but by teaching you tools to navigate life with more ease, awareness, and confidence.

Why Choose Nature-Based Therapy for Stress & Burnout?

Walking outdoors allows your nervous system to settle while your mind organizes itself. Studies show that nature exposure:

  • Reduces cortisol (stress hormone)

  • Improves mood and cognitive function

  • Enhances mindfulness and presence

  • Supports faster recovery from mental fatigue

Combined with evidence-based therapy, it’s a powerful way to tackle burnout from multiple angles.

FAQs

Do I need to be physically fit for hiking therapy?

No. Trails are chosen based on your comfort and ability, and walking at your pace is part of the process. Walking to connect with how you feel and to access the healing power of gentle movement outside is different from hiking for exercise. But, movement is movement and we will be intentionally stacking the physical benefit of gentle exercise with the benefit of therapy for a holistic, layered approach to creating emotional wellbeing.

How quickly will I see results?

Many clients notice small improvements in clarity, stress regulation, and energy within a few sessions. Lasting change comes with consistent practice and skill-building.

Is this covered by insurance?

I’m a private-pay, out-of-network provider. You can often submit superbills to your insurance for partial reimbursement.

Can I do sessions virtually?

Yes. Telehealth sessions are available for clients who prefer remote sessions or cannot attend in-person walks.

What makes your approach different?

I combine DBT, mindfulness, ACT, and nature-based interventions tailored to high-functioning adults dealing with stress and burnout. Sessions are practical, skill-focused, and restorative.
